What makes you happy?

Everyone has something that they go to that brings them joy when they are down or just need to smile. Some times those things change from year to year or day to day. For me it's people. I love being inspired by people. Especially people I don't know. It feels more genuine because they don't know me therefore they aren't trying to impress me. That itself allows me to be impressed with that person. I am overwhelming happy when I see or hear of a person doing something positive in the world to make our home a better place. A few people do great at that such as Meryl Streep, Diane Keaton, Bette Midler, and Goldie Hawn. I mention these people because they are in the public eye often but it's usually for something positive they are doing. They make me want to be better. Recently a new person has been added to my list. Barbara Niven. I was an old fan of hers in my middle school days from lifetime, but she has recently resurfaced in my life and has thoroughly won me over with her delightful outlook on life and her true passion that kindness will one day over take evil. She inspires people, but not in the fake way. She connects with her supporters as if they were old friends of hers. She even went as far as to turn her fan page into a dreamers network on Facebook that is a huge support group to those who are striving to be everything their hearts desire. Sometimes a person looks for in another to give them a reason to love and live and she is that for many. She takes time to reach out to most who reach out to her. That's something that can definitely save a life of  one that may feel like no one cares. It's not often that you find a person like that. Her talent alone made her stand out but when you add her heart and personality to that mix, how can you not love her! I daily check out her social sites just to remain positive and know that I am not here by mistake but I as we do have a purpose in this life. There is a quote that says " we are what we repeatly do. Excellence then is not an act but a habit." She has most certainly made a habit of spreading happiness and love to the rest of us! Her kindness helped me survive my last few months in the military when I thought all hope was gone. For that she has gained a life long supporter and friend in me.
